
In this SolidWorks tutorial, I will show you how to model small dc motor in metric system (mm).
1. Click New.
Click Part,
OK.
2. Lets change part dimensioning system to Metric system, click Option

click on Document Properties

Click on Units

click MMGS

and OK.
3. Click Top Plane and click on Sketch.

click on Center Rectangle,

sketch a rectangle start at origin and use Smart Dimension
and dimension it to 15mm x 20mm.

4. Click Features>Extruded Boss/Base
set D1 to 20mm and OK.


5. Click Fillet
, check box Full round fillet.

click first box and select one side of the side body, click on second box and click middle face and click third box and click the opposite face.

and OK.
6. Repeat step 5 for the other side.

7. Click on top face and click Sketch.

8. Click Circle
, sketch a circle start at origin and use Smart Dimension
and dimension to 6mm.

9. Click Features>Extruded Boss/Base
set D1 to 1.6mm and OK.


10. Click
and set D1 to 0.5mm select and click top surface and bottom face

and OK.
11. Save the part base Case.sldprt
